Rooted in well-being. This blend of roots are nourishing to our bodies on many levels but most specifically in aiding in healthy digestion, detoxification, and supporting our body’s resilience in times of stress.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Ginger is wonderful for many ailments and is rather tasty in my opinion. It is warming to the body and aids in digestion, helping to soothe an aching or nauseated stomach. It is cleansing to the liver, is beneficial for immune system function, and can help aid in clearing congestion. It can also be a helpful and mild pain reliever for menstrual cramps or headaches, as it helps the body lower inflammation.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa): Turmeric is a brilliant healer. It contains a compound called circumin which is where it gets its powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits. Because of these properties turmeric can be helpful with overall digestive and immune health.

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum): Dandelion root is most well known for its affinity for the liver and therefore powerful detoxification properties. Its also stimulating to the digestive system, improving its functioning and relieving any upset. It also contains anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Ashwagandha Root (Withania somnifera): Ashwagandha îs a really lovely herb to have in one’s arsenal of support in health and well-being. Its most well known for its adaptogenic properties that support our bodies in better handling stress.

Ingredients: Fresh ginger, turmeric, dandelion root, ashwagandha root, and black pepper. Organic cane alcohol.

*Dosage:

  • Adults - 15-30 drops 1-3 times a day, or as needed.

  • Children - Add 12 to the Child’s age and divide the child’s age by this total.

Ex.: 4yrs + 12 = 16 Then, 4:16 = .25 So this child’s dosage would be one quarter of the adult dosage.

*Store in a cool dark place for longer preservation. These remedies will likely last a lifetime, however overtime they do lose their potency.

What is a tincture?

A tincture is the extracted and concentrated version of a plant. Alcohol is most often used to make one, as it is the strongest solvent and can extract most of the chemical constituents from the plants. However, apple cider vinegar and vegetable glycerin are also useful, and tastier, ways of extracting the medicinal properties of plants. I make my remedies using the folk method. This means I do not do any formal measuring of my ingredients but instead use my intuition, gathered knowledge and experience when preparing them. I use high proof organic cane alcohol in my tinctures, this makes for a strong formula. I recommend introducing your body to them slowly and working your way up to the recommend dosage or what feels good to you, especially if you’re new to some of the plants in the blends. While these plants have a general consensus for how they interact with the human body, everyone’s body is different and therefore can have its own unique way of responding to these remedies.

*There are a few ways you can take a tincture, with each their own benefits and things to keep in mind:

  1. Micro dose - this is a great way to introduce yourself to a new herb/herbs and can be a wise choice for those who want to work with the energetics of an herb or whom are quite sensitive.

  2. Dropping the recommended dosage directly to the tongue - this method is going to be the quickest way to get these herbs into your system, however my tinctures are strong in taste and this could be overwhelming to the senses.

  3. Take a shot - mix your dosage amount into a small bit of water or other preferred liquid, this will tame the strong flavor and taste of alcohol but could take a bit longer to get into your system.

  4. Mix your dosage amount into a beverage of your choosing - This will greatly tame the taste and would likely take some time to feel its milder effects.

*We inhabit Cherokee land and I feel a strong connection to the wisdom and energies that our soil holds in light of that. All of the herbs and plants used in these medicine mediums are organically and ethically grown or foraged in my garden, yard, or nearby forest by me, or ethically sourced from a nearby farm in the prime of their lifespan. Intimately knowing and tending to these plants offers the opportunity for their spirits to be felt and to have peace of mind that they are healthy, loved, and respected and therefore potent in their healing gifts. It is my hope that you’re touched by the magic in this medicine and the healing it has to offer you, that your own relationships with these plants and the ones around you will deepen and your connection to our Earth and therefore yourself will feel nourished and restored.

*Disclaimer* I am not a medical doctor but instead a forever student of the Earth and bridge to her wisdom. Therefore I always recommend you do your own research on these plants and how they may interact with any medications you may take or conditions you might have, and perhaps consult a professional regarding your concerns. If you take pharmaceutical medications or are pregnant or breastfeeding, please take extra precaution and consult your health provider.
